I interviewed Phyrra back in September, and now I'm neatly bookending the year by interviewing her again this month :D She's just passed her third blogiversary, and is a finalist in BeautyStat's Spring Hairstyle Contest. Drop by and check out her product reviews, stunning looks, and commentary!

  1. You introduced me to NYX (specifically the round lipsticks, in your lipstick swatchfest post), and you've got more experience than I - even dabbling - with drugstore makeup brands. Got any recommendations for substitute brands for NYX?
I would say give Wet n' Wild a try. They've really stepped up their game. Also, I'd say maybe Ulta's brand line. So far I've tried 2 things by Ulta brand and liked both (an eye shadow and brow pencil).
  1. You've mentioned that you don't wear a lot of brown eyeshadows, so I'm going to guess that the ones you do wear, are somehow unique or truly amazing (coverage, staying power, effects...) What are your favorite brown eyeshadows, and why?
My absolute favorite brown eye shadow is Fyrinnae Feline Familiars. It's very complex and has a lot of different colors visible in it. I also love MAC Handwritten, as it's a buttery silky brown matte that makes a great crease shade.
  2. What's your favorite type of eyeliner, and why: cream, gel, pencil, liquid, powder, something else?
Ok, in general gels are my favorite because of the fact that I can get a deep solid line with them. However, some of the new liquid liners are really stealing my heart, such as the Tokidoki perfetto liner and the MUFE aqua cream liquid liners.
  3. How many hours have you spent playing Portal 2? :D
I've only played it for a few hours, mostly because I spent my time watching Ray & Dave play the game.
  4. Have you bought any beauty products just because they were hyped so much / in so many different places? Once you bought them, did they work for you or were they "kicking yourself" experiences?
Hmm, I bought some MAC that was hyped, hated it and returned it.
  5. Congratulations on the third-year blogiversary!! Got any hopes or goals for year four? What are some of your personal highlights from your third year?
My goals are to try and do more videos. I'd like to keep doing reviews and looks, as those are my favorite.
  6. What's your skincare routine? How has it changed over the years? (types of products / techniques, not just changes in products)
Well, I've incorporated using moisturizers at night and eye creams all the time. I used to only use moisturizers with SPF during the day. And when I was younger I didn't know you were supposed to use moisturizer (I only used SPF), until I was about 20.
  7. Most of the looks you post, and the products you talk about, are facial (EoTDs, eyeshadows, lipstuff) but you do occasionally post stuff about nail polish. What are some of your favorite nail polish colors / 'trends'? (Holos, duochromes, blues, layering, stamping...)
I love duochrome nail polishes! That's my favorite out of anything, to be honest. Zoya Lilith is probably my all time favorite. I also love BB Couture Blue Bahama.
