Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil in Romantic Comedy

Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil in Romantic Comedy

Saturday at 10:15 AM: This was one of the first shades in the Contour Eye Pencil line that caught my attention! I was headed to the counter with this, Banana Split, Black Lace, and a few other colors when the salesperson helpfully pointed out the Ten Shades of Samba kit…which I eagerly scooped up. Romantic Comedy is a bright pink, not quite neon but nearly so. I think it’s a good hot pink for people who want the pop of color, but don’t want…

Shiro Cosmetics’ You’re Making Me blush

Shiro Cosmetics’ You’re Making Me blush

Friday at 10:15 AM: Introduced to the line when Shiro got 10K Facebook likes - and named appropriately :) Not everyone will be able to wear this color because it is so cool, but everyone who likes the look of it should get a jar and give it a try! It’s a berry-fuchsia pink that doesn’t apply as vivid as it appears in the pot. Instead, you get a nice, softer cool pinky flush of color with a very minimal shimmer effect. I personally…

Concrete Minerals’ Rocket lip tint

Concrete Minerals’ Rocket lip tint

Friday at 7:15 AM: A brighter pink than I was expecting! Not a neon pink, just a very sunny, summery shade. This fades away a little bit faster than Jordana’s Sweet Pink, and much faster than Revlon’s Honey; but this is more of a balm and tint than a lip stain, so that’s to be expected. The product applies very smoothly, with a light mint scent that doesn’t linger too long.

TKB Trading’s Black

TKB Trading’s Black

Thursday at 4:15 PM: Not quite a black matte, but not really a shimmer finish, either. There are small particles of white or grey in there, but they’re very sparse. The color itself is a solid, medium-dark (not midnight…

Beauty from the Earth’s Holiday Magic

Beauty from the Earth’s Holiday Magic

Thursday at 1:15 PM: A rich, deep purple with sparkles enough for glam highlights and effects, but not enough sparkle for fallout. One might say that this is the ultimate purple sparkle eyeshadow. (Hey, look, I just did…) This…

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Soul Stone

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Soul Stone

Thursday at 10:15 AM: A cross between MPZ’s Infirmity and Forsaken, that leans more toward the green side. The underlying blue is very pigmented and intense, and will stain the skin a bit - so make sure you use…

Concrete Minerals’ Toxic

Concrete Minerals’ Toxic

Thursday at 7:15 AM: This bright green…loses a bit of color depth, unless applied over damp primer or cream shadow. Even then, it sheered out a bit. It’s also not a shade that looks really good on me -…

Color Club’s Wild Orchid

Color Club’s Wild Orchid

Wednesday at 1:15 PM: Simpler, neutral polish with microglass fleck for highlighting and visual texture. The polish tended to be just a tiny bit thin - two coats was almost completely opaque and even, but not quite. Three coats would…

Sally Hansen’s Grey Matters (290)

Sally Hansen’s Grey Matters (290)

Wednesday at 10:14 AM: When the Miracle Gel line came out, this was one of the first colors to catch my eye. It’s a gorgeous greyed turquoise-aqua - a bit more greyed than Jaded. It almost looks like a…

Concrete Minerals’ Dancing Queen kit

Concrete Minerals’ Dancing Queen kit

Tuesday at 1:15 PM: One of the original collections from Concrete Minerals, way back when it opened first on Etsy. I liked these, because 1) it gave people some ideas about how to pair up the shadows; and 2)…
