Looking for suggestions: mascara and lip colors

I’m on the lookout for a few makeup items, and would appreciate suggestions.

1. My mom's been using Max Factor mascara for at least 30 years, and with that brand being discontinued in the US she wants recommendations for a lengthening and thickening mascara that won't smudge. She and I both have to wear waterproof formulas or just deal with "racoon eyes", so something that is or offers a waterproof option would be ideal. I'm perfectly happy with Bare Escentuals' Flawless Definition mascara and its (much) less expensive counterpart, Cover Girl Lash Blast Length; but she's tried BEFD and didn't love the results.
2. With Aromaleigh discontinuing their lip products, I'm looking for lip tints and cremes that are unscented, range in color from medium to bright, apply smoothly, and don't cost upwards of $19 a tube. I bought backups of a few of my favorite Aleigh lip products, but the lifespan of those is between 6 to 12 months because of some of the ingredients. I like the staying power and color range and finishes of the Aleigh lip products, so am looking for something fairly close. They're mildly scented, but only very mildly so - and not something sweet, either, something neutral-botanical. The closest I can come is Cover Girl's Lip Slicks, which actually do a not-indecent job...but only will substitute for a few of the colors I like. I don't care one way or the other if these replacements are vegan, or "brand", or drugstore; but since I'm located in the US...European-exclusive product suggestions won't help me much. I prefer tints or sheer creams to glosses (I've got the BE buxoms for the glossage, and I love those.) Here's the colors from Aleigh that I do own: Crush, Darling, Gala, Karma, Perfect, Pout, Rosebud, and Tender; Melancholia, Pinafore, Sweet Tart, and Shortcake; Fictionromance, Headoverheels, and Noreservations; and Juliette and Sylvie.

Any suggestions?
