I’d like to invite folks to sign up for another network. But before you roll your eyes…this isn’t a link network. It only happens once a month, and it’s a bit more participatory.

Beauty Blogs' Backstage is a mutual-interview network. It's modeled on something that I took part in at the beginning of the Noughties - bloggers were paired up, and each was responsible first for writing a list of questions for their partner, then for answering their partner's questions. It gives beauty bloggers more of a personalized chance to talk about their blogs, but it also lets participants focus on one blog at a time when preparing their interview. I put the “minimum six months’ time” requirement in there because people will be looking back over previous site entries to get ideas for interview questions…and they won’t have much to go on if someone’s been blogging for only two months. Six months’ worth of content gives even the first interviewer a chance to read, come up with interesting questions that haven’t been asked by and to every single blogger out there, but still leaves some maneuvering room for the next interview-partner to come up with some good questions.
