She's Got The Look
My various makeup "recipes" - things that work well together. For me, at least.
EoTD: On Wednesdays…
Managed a dual-purpose look today: I demoed the samples I received from Lost In Makeupland (and thus had a look for my contest entry! You’ve entered, haven’t you? Well…you’ve got until the end of the month. That’s over a week. So head over and enter!) -=and=- I wore pink. (I’d forgotten that I ordered a pink sample. But yay, I had, so all went well.)
Lost in Makeupland is both a newer company, and new to me. I ordered a sample pack - 10 samples for $6, you choose the samples - and it arrived early last week. I hadn’t had a chance to actually play with the colors yet, though!
EoTD: Peacock Dreams
I got my Morgana Cryptoria order the other day - five lipstick samples from the 2011 vegan collection, one full tube - and the owner had sent along a sample of one of her new shadows to try. Jaded Peacock is going to be included in the Murder Mystery collection, to be released some time this month or next (at one point the target for release was mid-February, then March. If something else comes up, it'll have to slip again.)
This color reminds me of Bare Escentuals' Peacock...in a good way. BE's Peacock looks like a rich teal-y green with gold shimmer in the pot; but apply it (even foiled) and...it kind of vanishes. It's extremely sheer. Jaded Peacock, in contrast, keeps a good level of pigment even when applied dry, showing up as a softer blue-green with a faint gold sheen.
EoTD: Too Early For Spring
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a look. Heck, it’s been a while since I’ve *done* one!
When Erin suggested these colors, I didn’t think a thing of it. When I got them out and looked at them, I thought: these are all brighter, kind of spring-y. We’re not quite a week past the winter solstice, it’s raining here, snowing most other parts of the country…how am I going to pull this one off?
Quite well, as it turned out.

EoTD: Hearts’ Set
Still feeling a bit ill, but not as poorly as I was over Thanksgiving. Today for breakfast I had pumpkin pie and coffee, which is of dubious nutritional value but excellent taste value. :D

EoTD: First Frost(bite)
It took me long enough to get it posted…but, finally! Today it snowed - not the first snow of the season, that was yesterday, but yesterday’s snow had melted by evening. Today’s snow kept falling, and now we’ve got that interesting lighting which is the streetlights, reflected off the snow, and reflected again off of the low clouds. Not a good night to try anything nefarious, because either you’ll be seen or you’ll be hit by some panicked local driver who goes all to pieces when it snows.

EoTD: The Vampire’s Fever-Dream
It’s been a bit since I posted a look! I did get most of the way through my eyecolor challenge, but ran out of steam…just over 1000 colors used isn’t that bad, but I was severely lacking in the motivation department. This new wrinkle should be fun: every Monday I’ll wear a color combination chosen by site visitors. It will help me finish using my colors, but will also help me put together combinations that you’d like to see, and possibly break out of my own color comfort zone (or creative rut…whichever.)

FoTD: Spirit Day
Wearing my purple in support of LGBT teens who are bullied (well, in support of everyone who’s bullied, really). Purple eyeshadow, purple eyeliner, purple lip gloss, purple(ish) blush, purple earrings, purple shirt…

EoTD: Could never get the hang of Thursdays
The brother is gone back home, my house is somewhat back in order, and I have a few days’ worth of pictures to post. But I can at least get today’s look posted. I’ve gotten rather accustomed to using five and six colors in a look. Now, two or three colors seems somehow…incomplete. (I’ve also found that I’m more easily able to create a look that uses an odd number of colors, as opposed to an even number, where I have to get a bit creative with placement.) The odd things you learn…

EoTD: Ready for tomorrow
I am not a happy camper today. It isn’t horrific; but it’s just…bleah. I wouldn’t mind taking three or four aspirin, curling up in a fetal ball, and waking up tomorrow. Sadly…there’s the shopping to do. And prepping for my brother’s visit. And feeding the cats. Stuff like that.
