Maybelline’s Hibiscus Heartbreak Color Tattoo

Maybelline’s Hibiscus Heartbreak Color Tattoo

Saturday at 1:15 PM: I think that this is my favorite of the Spring 2015 Rebel Bloom color tattoos. It’s a cooler pink, still a lighter color, and it’s a pearl finish - not metallic, not frost. It looks like it’s trying to straddle the line between lilac-pink and pink-purple. People with very warm coloring may not be able to wear this well, but for cool-toned folks, it’s a really great shade.

Urban Decay’s 24-7 Eye Pencil in Mugshot

Urban Decay’s 24-7 Eye Pencil in Mugshot

Saturday at 10:15 AM: One of the better performers in the Ten kit (in my opinion.) I guess I should say “one of my more preferred shades.” It’s dark enough to provide a good deal of definition, and it has the normal UD ease-of-application and staying power. So many of the pencils in this kit were so light, though, it was nice to see a shade with a solid color payoff.

Beauty from the Earth’s Willow

Beauty from the Earth’s Willow

Friday at 1:15 PM: Looks like it will apply brown, but…it’s more gold, almost a metallic finish. If you’re looking for a medium-rich neutral brown, this is not the color you’re looking for. Don’t be thrown by that, though, and you can get a very nice burnished-gold near-metallic without the full-on metallic finish (which some find undesirable) and good staying power.

Wet n Wild’s Megaslicks Balm Stain in Red-dy or Not

Wet n Wild’s Megaslicks Balm Stain in Red-dy or Not

Friday at 10:15 AM: A deeper red that stays red (doesn’t orange out), isn’t too vampy, but also doesn’t fade or blot away quickly. This stain does eventually wear off and need reapplication, but it’s not a two-hour wear…

Beauty from the Earth’s Princess Bride

Beauty from the Earth’s Princess Bride

Thursday at 1:15 PM: Definitely a cooler red - people with very warm skintones may not be able to wear this easily or well. The color payoff is solid, and the shimmer can be softened by buffing it out.

BareMinerals’ Emotion

BareMinerals’ Emotion

Thursday at 10:14 AM: Shows a bit bluer when foiled, and solidly “deep violet” when applied dry. There’s a little bit of leave-behind and staining, but nothing that won’t be picked up with a second pass of makeup remover.…

BareMinerals’ 17506 (Blue Ball)

BareMinerals’ 17506 (Blue Ball)

Thursday at 7:15 AM: The cartographers in Pennsylvania must have gotten punchy after a bit, because there are several cities with…well…unique names. The shade is a medium-deep, saturated blue. It isn’t the deepest blue in BE’s lineup, but it’s…

Beauty from the Earth’s Furies

Beauty from the Earth’s Furies

Wednesday at 1:15 PM: This color has a tendency to want to go on semi-sheer, whether dry or foiled. And it doesn’t mix easily or apply smoothly. I don’t know if that’s because of the sparkle finish, but…it doesn’t…

Sally Hansen’s Troublemaker (500)

Sally Hansen’s Troublemaker (500)

Wednesday at 10:15 AM: Now discontinued, but I’m glad I grabbed a bottle of this before it disappeared. It isn’t my favorite standalone manicure color (I reach for cooler purples more quickly than warm purples), but the formula’s fairly…

CND’s Vinylux Lost Labyrinth (191)

CND’s Vinylux Lost Labyrinth (191)

Wednesday at 7:15 AM: This color almost looks like a slight duochrome - somewhat similar to Color Club’s Sky High, but with a lighter blue base. I get full opacity with two coats, and it lasts a week with…
