BareMinerals’ Guide to Color - Warm kit
  • Manufacturer: bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals
  • Availability: webstore, boutiques, and channel partners; beginning summer 2011
  • Contains: 1 primer, 1 eyeshadow, 1 blush, 1 eyeliner, 1 lip color, 1 face color, and a brush
  • Cost/Amount: USD$39
  • Would you purchase again: yes

I jumped on this kit the instant it first came available for pre-order - on Beauty.com - because of Zany. This color was touted as ‘impossible to get’ ever since I’d started buying BE, so I (and many others) were thrilled at the chance to get the shade. The eyeshadow is interesting, and I’m glad I had a chance to get it; but other companies do better ‘tarnished green-bronze’ shades that cost less and are easier to get ahold of. The eyeliner is nice, but sadly these have a tendency to dry out fairly quickly. People have reported trying to keep the pencils in ziploc baggies to compensate for the poor cap seal, and to keep the soft pencil from drying out and becoming useless shortly after first opening it. The face color is nice, but not breathtakingly unique; the lip gloss is a nice color, the brush is about on par for BE’s double-ended face brushes, and the eyelid primer is either useful but boring, or a throwaway (if you’re like me, and BE’s eyelid primers are really only useful to add a slight wash of color above a much stronger primer.)

This kit contained:

  • brightening eyelid primer — semisheer pale gold shimmer
  • Zany — burnished gold-brown shimmer
  • 10 PM eyeliner — burnished mocha shimmer
  • Exquisite Radiance All-Over Face Color
  • Apricot Nectar (lipgloss)
  • Double-Ended Precision Eye & Cheek Brush

Beauty Tip

Wear healing lip balm at night. It helps keep your lips from chapping, drying, or peeling, especially in winter.
