BareMinerals’ Shooting Star

This is such a deep, rich, pigmented blue that you'll want to be careful when applying it. The phrase “use a light touch” cannot be stressed enough!!

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

(There's a bonus, though: since it is so dark and so very pigmented, others have found ways to tone it down if it's too dark: one person brushed BE's Opal over the top of the shadow, another used some silicone powder to soften and brighten the color.) Another plus of this being so pigmented is that it can easily be used as a liner.

There's no blackening with this color. All of the depth and pigmentation is blue. You don't need to use a lot, either, because this color is so pigmented. Hopefully BE will keep releasing colors of this quality, opacity, and pigmentation level.
