Maybelline’s Dramatic Black Color Tattoo cream shadow

When the five “leather” Color Tattoos came out, I got Dramatic Black last. I don't use black cream shadow much (at all), and I have a black gel liner, so I'm good. I don't need this color.

I was wrong.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

If you don't have a black cream shadow in your collection, this is an excellent one to choose. It applies smoothly but it isn't “stygian” black. It's just slightly softened. It's a low price, available at any drugstore or all-in-one shop, and costs a lot less than Blackground (MAC's black cream shadow.) If you're looking for a replacement for Blacktrack (MAC's gel-formula fluidliner) this isn't an exact dupe - Blacktrack is a deeper, more intense black - but it's very close.
