Maybelline’s Fuchsia Fever Color Tattoo cream shadow

I would so dearly love to have a fuchsia eye shadow or base. The color would accentuate my blue-grey eyes, whether it was all over the lid or just used as an accent color along the lash line. I had hopes when I heard about this one, but kind of gave those up when I started seeing the photos. It's a cooler shade, nearly a Sterno-purple. And it's another semi-sheer color. It's more easily buildable than Test My Teal, and there appear to be hints of gold shimmer in the color, but it doesn't give me the effects I was hoping for.

Because of both pigmentation and shade, I can use this on my lashline when I want just a little color rather than a bold line. Unfortunately…bold magenta around the eyes looks striking. A hint of this color around the eyes looks like an allergic reaction. (I think I must be one of the few people who actually likes the idea of a vivid tangerine, burgundy, or deep fuchsia eyeliner.)

I wish that there was a way to find out if this is lip-safe. I wish that it had more color payoff for use on my lids, but it would look nice on me as a lip tint.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.
