Maybelline’s Rich Mahogany Color Tattoo cream shadow

I avoided getting this color for the longest time. It's just another brown, I said. I don't use brown cream shadows or eyeshadows nearly enough to need to buy another one, I thought. Then, when most of these NYFW displays were picked clean of all but a few items (mostly Gold Shimmer and Rich Mahogany) I picked up one of each of those colors. Then I came home, swatched Rich Mahogany, and went out the next day to get myself a backup.

Rich Mahogany is a medium-deep brown with gold and red and silver shimmer. It reminds me a little bit of a deeper, less coppery version of OPI's Warm and Fozzie. I'm really glad that lots of other people ALSO passed on this color so that I could get myself a few pots when I finally deigned to try it out. This color looks really good on me, both all over my lid or as a liner when I want a little bit of definition, but nothing quite so definite as a dark navy, black, or even a medium-dark grey.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.
