Maybelline’s Sandy Shores Color Tattoo cream shadow

It's sheer enough that it can be used on its own as a subtle accent - and it's not so yellow that it makes me look jaundiced. I have some problems with application, and like most of the other frost-finish cream shadows, I get better results if I don't try to sweep this across my lids. The color isn't opaque enough to show as a really strong yellow, and while you could layer this atop a darker creme base and get more of an “effects” layer…that seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to, when you could layer some loose-powder shadow over the darker creme base and get similar results without the drying-time/inadvertent mixing problems.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.
