Milani Cosmetics’ Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick in I Am Powerful

A plum-red that I kind of wish was a bit more pigmented. I have other lipsticks in this shade - some more pigmented, some more sheer - and while it is possible to layer this one until I get the color intensity that I prefer, that doesn’t stay for very long. Milani’s Color Statement Lipsticks vary in terms of how much color payoff they have, even if they all work better for me than CoverGirl’s lipsticks (which I’ve just outright stopped trying after one too many disappointments.) Not all of these Bold Color Statement shades have this quasi-opacity issue.

There are three purplish shades in the Bold Color Statement line: I Am Powerful is a cooler, deeper purple; I Am Cool is slightly lighter and brighter. I wanted this slightly warm, medium-bright shade, and I do like it. I just wish it displayed a little more “oomph” without layering.
