Again, this kit preceded my introduction to Bare Escentuals - so I had to pick up the colors individually. Fortunately, bu the time I was collecting in 2007, I was quite easily able to get all of the colors: 1970s came in the Teamed Up: Coral Reef kit, and was readily available on Ebay; Fun was available through the BE webstore, as was Oz; and Passion was both available through the webstore and boutiques as well as being available from several...
Sephora is a place where it's very easy for the makeup-obsessed to spend a lot of money. Sephora tends to focus on midrange and higher-end brands like Dior, Smashbox, Anastasia, Bare Escentals, Urban Decay, Make Up For Ever, Tokidoki, and OPI. Generally (but not exclusively) if you can regularly find a makeup or beauty line in a US drug- or discount-store, you won't find them at Sephora. They do feature some less-costly makeup (Pop Beauty, Sugar), but the “inexpensive” niche...
Wandered over to Vampy Varnish this morning, and saw...a poll. Cool! I'm working on scheduling posts quite far into the future; but didn't have anything for today. (I know. How sad is that?) At any rate, on with the show:
I started to write a response to a post over on MissChievous' blog about Luuux and some of their content providers...namely, the copyright thieves. My response started to get a little long, and I passed the point where I was commenting. I was getting a bit ranty. So I thought...maybe I should take the longer, rantier portion of this over to my sandbox, and not make a great big mess over in hers.
In previous years, BE has released different versions of their kits for different channels: the kit makeup is similar, the price is the same, but the exact colors / items / brushes are different (ie, Bare Crystals/Bare Ruby/Bare Topaz, Siren of the Sea/Sea Yourself). The Kaleidescope kit seems to be the BE-boutique-counterpart to the QVC-exclusive Women of BE kit. It contains 20 mini eyecolors, and costs $89. Both have a similar color range. This kit has three new colors (Cha-Cha, Iced,...
This is a good kit for people who don’t have many BE eyecolors and want them, or for people who missed the Girlfriends, Beautiful Susan, and the various Starlets when they hit the outlets. I am fortunate in that…I already own all but one of these colors. I’m almost surprised that BE didn’t include the Wild Women colors in this kit…but they were probably focused on keeping the price point down to under USD$100; and...
Color requested by Angel Kareena as part of the Aromaleigh Angels / DonorsChoose.org charity event.
With one coat, this color is a little light and streaky. Two coats evens things out nicely. Three coats deepens the color…but interestingly enough, two coats gave me a more “autumnal” green. And since I'm wearing this in autumn, I stuck with two coats.
The first of BE’s “most wanted” kits, bringing back four colors that had been pulled from rotation in boutiques and channel partners. Since this kit predated my BE collection-mania, I had to acquire the colors elsewhere, in dribs and drabs.
