BareMinerals’ Great Gossamers kit

BareMinerals’ Great Gossamers kit

I didn’t buy this kit when it came out. I already knew I liked Rose Radiance, but wasn’t sure about the whole “gossamers” thing. They’re very sheer, with a satin finish and a little bit of shimmer. The coloring is barely a tint - it isn’t enough to change the shade of the skin by itself, no matter how heavily it’s packed on. It can’t really be used for color correction either. It is...

Medium-light pink with slight mauve undertones. I can see why this shade was one of the earlier discontinuations - it's a very light pink but it's not “ballet pink,” and it just…doesn't look great.

BareMinerals’ Ambition

BareMinerals’ Ambition

Ambition is “the pink eyeshadow” in Storybook Romance…but it leans rather cool. It's more of a magenta-mauve, than a deep pink. This is almost a less-cool, more opaque cousin to Wildflower. The coverage is nice and solid, and I get no staining when swatching it over bare skin. The shimmer finish is softer, not reflective or refractive enough to be a pearl finish, but just a bit rougher than satin.

Beauty from the Earth’s Forrest

Beauty from the Earth’s Forrest

This really complements my eyes well! I wouldn't have picked it to do that, but…it does. There's the deep olive that's almost swallowed up by the brown tones, so it's not just a muddy green. The wet application is too sheer for my preferences; but a dry application over still-damp gel liner gives me a great liner shade that I haven't managed to exactly find in any of the liners I've tried.
