Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Six Days of Storms

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Six Days of Storms

This ended up being a softer base color than I thought it would be. It also looks a bit more purple than it applies. I thought it would be more of a stormcloud blue. The color isn’t sheer at all, it just loses a lot of the saturation. If you like wearing greyed shades, this is a good one to pick up.

This isn’t a metallic finish, but it’s close. The color is pretty saturated, and has a lot of red…it looks almost autumnal. The formula was good, but the shimmer finish did show a suggestion of brushstrokes.

Sleek Makeup’s Calm Before the Storm i-Divine palette

Sleek Makeup’s Calm Before the Storm i-Divine palette

This was released as a limited-edition palette…and here it is, a year and a half later, and the entire Nautical collection is still available! (I actually kind of like that. It means that I don’t have to panic about getting it in the first few weeks.) This particular palette was actually a Christmas gift to me, from my holiday exchange partner at /r/MakeupAddiction.

This is a very soft color, and is a bit sheer. The color is even, but it isn’t opaque. It was a bit difficult for me to see where the color was, when I swatched it - it’s that close to my skintone and that soft. It’s a matte finish, and while it applies well dry and blends well, it is a bit hydrophobic.

When I mix this with water and apply it, the red brightens up a LOT. It goes from ‘deep brick’ to ‘candied cherry.’ There was some staining when I swatched it wet. so make sure to put down some sort of base or primer first. This is similar to My Pretty Zombie’s Brisket, but the interference shimmer is different and less dense, and the base color is deeper.

Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Smoky Grey (33)

Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Smoky Grey (33)

I ended up liking this a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a really good shade of grey for me: I get definition and depth without a “blackened” eye. Coverage is a tiny bit thin, but not too obviously so. I alsy want to try using this as a base for interference colors and see what effects I get with a deeper grey, rather than black or white.
