According to the vendor’s website, this color is supposed to also be a bronzer. I’m not seeing it…unless it’s used as a bronzer on the absolute palest of pale skintones. Aside from that, it’s a nice neutral colorwash that I’ll use over a darker colored eyeshadow base, to slightly soften its color.

My Pretty Zombie’s Garnish

An attractive shade…that doesn’t apply too well, unfortunately. I had the best results applying it dry, patting it over primer…but the usual soft sweep-across that I do to get rid of any excess showed me some thinner spots. The wet application was uneven because this shadow does not like mixing with water. This is, unfortunately, standard behavior for most MPZ matte shadows. Using a different mixing medium, or applying over a partially damp base, may yield better...

This color applies well, though a sealant wouldn’t be a bad idea if you want to maxinize and keep the shimmer. It’s a heathered medium-light green, so works fairly well as an “honorary neutral” shade. I have some similar greens…but not exact matches. I’m glad that I got this before LaurEss closed its doors!

When Pacific Blue was reformulated, and its color changed…I (and many others) were less than thrilled. The original Pacific Blue was a huge favorite, and for a lot of folks, was their first and/or favorite blue nail polish. In spring/summer of 2015, Sally Hansen added this shade, Royal Hue, to their Xtreme Wear line. It’s close to the original Pacific Blue, but it’s not an exact duplicate, like I thought (hoped!!!) when I picked it up...

I didn’t buy this collection as a collection…I’ve bought the colors individually over time. When this was marked down to $25, then you effectively got one free lippie. Other than that, unless you knew that you were in love with all of the colors (all of which were available for individual purchase) you were better off buying the items separately.

Pigmented enough to stand on its own, but light enough and reflective enough to make a good highlighter…if applied sparingly. This exact shade is a little too yellow for me to use as a standalone color and wear it easily with other shades that look good on me. But a highlight? That I can do. I’ve experimented with using it as a brightening liner along my upper and lower lashlines, but that hasn’t totally worked out yet.

There’s a softened blue-pearl finish on this one that throws back some light, but doesn’t completely cover the base shade. I have seen similar shades from other indie companies - maybe not exact matches, but close in the ballpark. (Though if they have a pearl finish, it doesn’t also include a hint of blue interference.) The base color is a versatile near-neutral that pairs well with any heathered shades, and all but the brightest jeweltones. This shade...

NYX Cosmetics’ Faux Blacks eyeliner in Obsidian

The darker of the two obviously-blue liners in the Faux Blacks collection. This is similar to the dark-blue liner shades available in many collections. It almost leans just a little towards purple. This was one of the least-cooperative pencils, in terms of formula and ease of application. The product seemed like it had dried out a bit, or was less soft and more difficult to work with.
