Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Midnight Blue (17)

Kiko Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Stick Shadow in Midnight Blue (17)

I have several liners named “Midnight Blue” (I’d guess that many people do, unless they hate the shade!) This is a metallic finish, and even through it seems to swatch a bit uneven, when applied it’s pretty smooth, balanced, full coverage.

NYX Cosmetics’ Slide On Eye Pencil in Jewel

NYX Cosmetics’ Slide On Eye Pencil in Jewel

I love this shade - it's a softened mauve shimmer that works well with my coloring, and gives me softer definition with a color other than grey. It gives me a bit of red near my lids that isn't either blood-red or hot pink (which is sometimes exactly what I want...but not always.) Sadly, this one applies a bit patchily. There aren't a lot of blank spots, but there are a lot of thinner areas. This patchiness isn't as...

Maybelline’s Super Stay Ink Crayon in Enjoy The View

Maybelline’s Super Stay Ink Crayon in Enjoy The View

A well-pigmented warmer neutral. It applies solidly and stays in place fairly well - standard (thus far) for these Super Stay Ink Crayon. This turned out a bit warmer, a bit more orange than I thought it might. (I was really hoping it would be a dupe for Buxom Brooklyn, which is a cooler version of this.) It’s not impossible for me to wear this lip color, I just have to be very careful what I wear it with.

Color Club’s I’ll Never Desert You

Color Club’s I’ll Never Desert You

Not quite bright enough to be called “cameo rose”, but it’s very close. There are brown undertones that make it more of a pink-clay. I thought it might be more rosey, but since this is a “desert” inspired palette, the clay/dust color makes more sense. The polish spreads and self-levels very well.

This is almost a very cool pink. It’s an interesting shade, but it seems a little less intense than many other colors in this collection. The formula was a bit problematic: it did not really want to self-level at all. You can see the thinner spots in the photos, even with two full coats. I don’t know if I got a bottle from an off-batch, or if this is typical for this shade.

Color Club’s Calm Before the Storm collection

Color Club’s Calm Before the Storm collection

I only got three shades from this collection. The sparkly Oh Hail No wasn’t interesting to me, and as for the other two blues…I thought two blues from this collection was enough, especially since the brighter blue didn’t appeal to me and the darker blue looked a little too close to This Blows for me to justify its purchase. All three of the polishes that I did pick up all have very good formulas, and I’m...

Concrete Minerals’ Peachsicle

Concrete Minerals’ Peachsicle

This is a newer color - I think it was introduced to the Concrete Minerals’ line in late 2018 or in 2019. It’s a great near-neutral or softer highlighter for fairer neutral or faintly warm complexions. I don’t know how it would look on richer skintones, because the base color definitely is visible.

This is a very saturated blue, so you’ll want to wear a base coat under this or risk stained nail beds. On the upside…this is a very rich lovely turquoise-teal base! I got full coverage in two coats. The microsparkle isn’t strong enough to necessarily be a duotone layer, but it’s fairly well distributed throughout the polish. The gold color is most visible, but I also see red and silver microparticles.

Color Club’s Feverish

Color Club’s Feverish

This almost looks blackened! It’s an excellent formula with a lovely finish, but it’s a little dark for my preferences for a full manicure. This polish can work nicely as an accent color or a background for nail art, and I’ve seen other people wear deeper shades as full, unadorned manicures. It’s just not my personal favorite shade.
