Notoriously Morbid’s Eye of the Tiger

Notoriously Morbid’s Eye of the Tiger

This makes a pretty good “all-season” eye color - just use different application techniques for each half of the year! Wet or foiled application gets you a more autumnal color, dry application can look almost spring-like. The foiled application stays put very well and doesn’t fade, and I didn’t need to layer either color to get the swatches to look the way that they do. The dry application is almost a pearl-like finish.

Colourpop’s BFF Volumizing Mascara in Plum and Get It

Colourpop’s BFF Volumizing Mascara in Plum and Get It

This mascara formula is about the same as most of the deeper BFF mascaras. The brush is definitely the same. I just don’t love this shade of the mascara. The color is all but invisible, even when compared against Brownie Points or Wine o’Clock. I’m guessing that this mascara shade has withstood the test of time because it’s a colored mascara, but it isn’t super visible and so it’s “work-safe.”

Shiro’s Fire and Blood blush

Shiro’s Fire and Blood blush

I swatched this blush…and then I managed to misplace it! It’s in my house somewhere, I just have to dig around a bit to find it. The depth of the orange convinced me to give it a try. If it had been lighter or less red it might not be a color that could work for me. It is very pigmented, so it’s easier to end up putting on too much.

This was supposed to be a deep green with strong purple interference highlights. What I see is mostly a deeper green with some peat-bog. When I bought this I knew that it wouldn’t be a daily lip color…but I was hoping for a bit more of the green and purple.

This is a little cool - definitely not a lilac, but it is a cooler pink. It’s bright without being neon, though it does get awful close to that border! The formula is good, though this can’t be called a single-coat polish by any means. If you apply it over another color, that color does affect the pink somewhat. The color isn’t transparent, but it can’t solidly cover another polish without that polish changing this shade.

This feels like a winter or early-spring shade - it’s slightly “candied”, but it’s an overall richer color. The formula was a little on the thinner side for a Vinylux polish.

This trio is on the warmer side: a coral pink, a tangerine, and a gilded bronze. These are all among the more pigmented of the blush and highlighter stix, so these might show up well on deeper skintones. I was definitely interested in 25/8 and in Star Brite. Hooked is just barely too warm for my skintone, but I can make it work by wearing it as an eye color instead of a blush.

Makeup Revolution’s Regeneration Bronze Age palette

I was initially interested in this palette because it looked like it had two richer deeper cool shades, some coppery-bronze shadows, and some lovely reds and maroons. I wasn’t too sure about the marbled shadows, but was willing to try them out. (I thought that the marbling was only on the surface, so after maybe a handful of uses that marbling would be gone leaving a pan of the base shade. I was right about those.) The black shades...

This is a very pale shade - it’s almost a pastel except it’s almost more white than yellow. It’s not one of the easier colors to work with - but that could be because, on my skin, the color is all but invisible at some angles, so I don’t know if I’ve gotten the coverage that I want.
