Black Rose Minerals’ Confused

This reminds me very slightly of BareMinerals' Marquise - a cooler-toned taupe with a glam-shimmer finish. The color pigmentation is the same when applied as it looks in the pot, but the lilac undertones are a little more visible. There's enough shimmer to reflect the light, but not so much that it starts to veer into “sparkle” territory. (Marquise is just on the other side of that line.)

As a cool taupe, this works very well with midrange greyed softer shades (like…oh, just about anything found in Aromaleigh's Carolina Summer collection.) I think this brown is a bit too cool to flatter people with strong gold undertones in their skin. It looks very good on me, but I have blue-grey eyes and cooler pink undertones. I really look good in cooler neutrals, so it's incredibly easy for me to wear this color, either alone for a “minimal makeup” look or with other cool toned shades for a more elegant or complex look.

When I try to wear this with grey or deep charcoal liner, the combination is not my favorite. Dark brown or jet black presents no problems; and I'm guessing something like MAC's Midnight Blues might work well also.
