Concrete Minerals’ Glamourpuss lip tint

If you saw Revlon’s Darling balmstain and thought, “Yeah…purples!” then you probably thought the same thing when you saw Concrete Minerals’ Glamourpuss. This is a newer shade, added…sometime in 2014? Or late 2013? I’m not exactly sure when…but this and Dreamboat were not part of the original collection. The color is good, a definite tint so not too purple, though it is a little bit buildable.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the lip color in the tube; top right, the color applied over bare skin, to better show the shade; and below, the color applied to the lips.

I had problems building it evenly, though! As you can see in the photo, I got a longish deeper swath of color on my lower lip when I applied a second coat, but wasn’t able to get similar results on my top lip nor on the edges of my lips (unless I used a makeup brush.) I also had to contact the manufacturer and get a replacement, because the first tube of Glamourpuss that I ordered would not extrude, no matter how long I twisted the base of the tube. I’ve had similar problems with other purple indie lip products - so I’m not sure if it’s a “purple” thing (like most yellow nail polishes having a streakier-than-average formula) or if the ones that happened to be problematic for me, all happened to be purple.
