L’Oréal’s Brown HIP Color Truth cream shadow

Near-matte brown, great for more naturalistic definition (softer than black, but more color depth and definition than medium browns or greys.) I'm glad I picked this one up - I know that other lines make matte or near-matte brown liners, but I don't have any. (I think the closest I come might be MAC's Bitz and Glitz, which does have the sparkle factor.) The color applies smoothly, richly, and evenly. I just wish that it had a better long-term performance record..!

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

These eyeliners were phased out for some reason. It may have had to do with repeated complaints about performance - this eyeliner takes longer than most to fully cure and set, and it doesn't stay in place over a full 12+-hour day. It fades just a bit, and tries to migrate slightly. It doesn't look terrifying on me, but I don't like it when eyeliner smudges or fades away over the course of my day.
