Meow Cosmetics’ Hopeless

This is one of the most striking eyeshadows I've seen this year. The dry application is a bit straightforward, but foil this shadow and you really see how amazing it is! It's almost a duochrome and a duotone at the same time: blue-green that morphs to a turquoise-navy with a gold metallic shimmer. The blue-based green eyeshadow from My Pretty Zombie's Blue Period Trio comes close, but it doesn't have the gold-shimmer factor that this one does.

This is a very intense shadow - if I wear it alongside any softer shades, it utterly overwhelms them. I don't like wearing this as an inner-lid accent color because…yes, it looks nice, but it doesn't showcase the color nearly well enough! Primer is a definite must for this shadow, or it will leave behind a slight “blueing” stain when you finally do remove it. It also doesn't look nearly as amazing if it's creased up a bit - what eyeshadow does? - so use a primer or a cream base.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
