OPI’s Spring/Summer collection for 2012 looks…vaguely familiar. The base colors look similar to recently-released shades from Zoya, but with the addition of gold and silver flakies - actual flakies, not the cheap mylar strips that some companies think we’ll be satisfied with. (Glancing at some other reviews around the web, others noticed this too…) It took me a while, but I eventually did fall for this collection…and ended up getting all but three of the colors. Yes, even with the color similarities. (There was a sale at Ulta, buy two get one free.)
This collection contained:
A Roll in the Hague — bright red-orange creme
Did you 'ear about Van Gogh — muted beige creme
Dutch Ya Just Love OPI — medium-bright purple with red-gold flakie shimmer
Gouda Gouda Two Shoes — medium-deep coral rose shimmer
I Don't Give a Rotterdam — dusty blue with silver flakie shimmer
I Have a Herring Problem — dusty teal with gold flakie shimmer
Kiss Me on My Tulips — bright magenta-pink creme
Pedal Faster, Suzi — light pink with silver flakie shimmer
Red Lights Ahead...Where? — bright red-coral creme
Thanks a WindMillion — medium-light green creme
Vampsterdam — metallic dark burgundy-violet shimmer
Wooden Shoe Like To Know — cool medium-deep cocoa brown with red-gold flakie shimmer
The similarities I thought I saw - but haven't confirmed yet - are:
Did you 'ear about Van Gogh — looks like OPI's Going Nude, Eh and Zoya's Farah
Dutch Ya Just Love OPI — looks like Zoya's Tru
I Don't Give a Rotterdam — looks like Zoya's Skylar
Kiss Me on My Tulips — looks like Zoya's Lara
Pedal Faster, Suzi — base color looks like Zoya's Shelby
