Aromaleigh v1’s En Pointe collection

I only sampled colors from this collection *after* it had been culled and 14 of the original 20 colors made permanent. These colors are all duochromes, but they are about as sheer as some of Bare Escentuals’ deeper glimpses (or as sheer as some straight micas). For example, while Aurora photographs as a lovely pink with violet duochrome, the color payoff doesn’t give you much of the pink - especially if you’re used to, and expecting, pigmentation along the lines of Aromaleigh v1’s other eye collections. That said, there are some lovely shades in this collection; and if you want the colors darker you can either apply them wet or use them over a still-damp primer or base. Order samples before you purchase, even if the description sounds like exactly your thing.

This collection contained:

  • Arabesque — bluish green with green and gold shimmer
  • Aurora — sheer pink-mauve sheen with blue iridescence
  • Calliope — soft lilac-beige sheen
  • Clara — warm smokey purple with blue and pink iridescent pearl
  • Coppelia — semisheer berry violet sheen
  • Dulcinea — semisheer warm purple with green iridescence
  • Elegie — black with multicolored sparkle
  • Myrtha — dusky blue-green sheen
  • Odile — semisheer mauve sheen with blue-green iridescence
  • Piqué — sheer orange-red blue sheen
  • Serenade — periwinkle blue-violet sheen
  • Sylph — plush white with silver and blue shimmer
  • Waltz — palest green with a blue-green sheen
  • Tutu — pink violet with golden copper sheen

I initially thought I might like Piqué, but it applied too similarly to Black Cherry/Winterveld (from Simply Naturals/Coastal Scents). Elegie, another color that I thought might be interesting, was a bit sheer (as are most colors in this collection) was very similar to another Aromaleigh color that I already had.
