Zoya’s Estelle

Zoya’s Estelle

This color is VERY similar to Zoya’s Song, from the Divas collection. Song has a microglitter finish, and the blue is perhaps just a little bit darker (barely.) But the two colors are close. Unless you’re a huge collector of blue nail polish, you might not need both in your collection.

ColourPop’s Over Brunch collection

ColourPop’s Over Brunch collection

This kit had two colors that I already owned, but four that I didn’t…and two that I really wanted to get my hands on. It’s mostly pinks and roses, with one slightly deeper shade and one near-neutral. Others have said that they hope that Rooftop becomes part of the regular ColorPop lineup, so that they can get backups of that color alone.

Sobe Botanicals’ Reaper

Could possibly be a near-neutral for some skintones (mine included). Pretty solid color payoff and good adhesion…and sadly, it’s a Color You Can’t Have, because Sobe Botanicals seemed to just quietly fold some time back in 2015. I think that Shiro has something similar currently in their lineup.

The color looked like it might have been a brighter shade, almost a candied green...but the color payoff was not as strong as I've come to expect from other Shiro shadows. (Perhaps because this was one of Shiro's first eyeshadows?)

CND’s Vinylux Lilac Eclipse (250)

CND’s Vinylux Lilac Eclipse (250)

A muted version of Lilac Longing (from the original lineup) and a polish that I think might pair well with Mystic Slate (from the upcoming Glacial Illusion collection.) I like this color very much! The formula could have been just a tiny bit better in terms of spreadability, but overall the polish performed well.

Aromaleigh v2.1’s Goddess of the Month collection

Aromaleigh v2.1’s Goddess of the Month collection

Ever since the company’s return in 2012, I’ve periodically bought eyeshadows from Aromaleigh, hopeful that they’d return to their former quality. Sadly, that didn’t quite happen…but Aromaleigh still makes fantastic blushes and highlighters. Their assortment is a bit wider than most companies, and the Goddess of the Month program ensures a steady supply. I use many of them as less-pigmented eyeshadows - they’re not as colorsaturated as most eyeshadows, true; but I effectively pay a...

Shiro Cosmetics’ Divine Justice

I have some similar shades from other companies, but I don't know that any of them have this level of color payoff. The pearl finish isn't solid enough to overpower the base color - it can be further buffed away, if you prefer a truly minimal finish.

I can’t tell if this is a strong green over a black base, or a strong green over a really dark green base. I don’t get a lot of the sooty leave-behind that some blackened shades can put down, so to me that’s a definite plus. The color applies a little less intense than I’d like, but it’s buildable.
