When I reviewed the first set of these colors, the formula was a bit uncooperative. It wouldn’t mix with water, it was difficult to layer when applied dry…I was very unhappy. When the second set came out, the colors looked like they might be interesting but I still had a bad memory of Volume One. I passed on the first chance to get a sample set. It wasn’t until 2019, two years later, that I decided to try these - based on the formulas in volumes 3, 4, and 5.

These are all light and medium shades with one exception: Atla, a rich saturated blue. This matte shadow formula is quite a bit better behaved than Matte Saga One, back when I first swatched them. They apply less patchily when applied over primer, and are less prone to fallout, though a cream base or a light setting spray is recommended if you have oily, hooded, or folded lids.
