At the closing of the Ostara weekend

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

At the closing of the Ostara weekend

Something is affecting teh intarwebs. First TSS' site went wonky for a bit. Then Beautybrains was out of comission for the better part of a day. Then the Majyk was down.

It would be frustrating if it didn't have the side effect of making me more productive this weekend. Hey, look, I got three kits and nine colors' writeups on the site! (Okay…the color writeups are more like detailed placeholders. But still…progress!)

I made my “wish lists” for a few of my favorite MMU vendors. I filled one cart, stopped, cleared it, went away, did something else, got lunch, came back, and filled it again. Then I told myself: stop, back off. This particular sale is going on All Week Long. You can wait a bit, and you won't have to pay higher prices. Just…calm. I did snap and get a few more colors from one vendor's sale. On the flip side, though, I was reading Pebzy's great post about her alternating disappointments and joy with the Pink Diamonds colors, and following her lead I went scurrying over to EvilBay to see what I could find. I found some sellers who did have Enchanting and Exquisite Diamond colors…but even as I was watching a few items, I thought to myself: look at that color. The jar is barely half full, and you have wonderful fuschias from other vendors. You do not need to pay $9 for a half-filled jar. Forget it. So I walked away, colors unbought. I really don't think that I'll go back for them, either: Enchanting Diamond looks like sparkly fuschia, which I can find similar elsewhere; and Exquisite looks like a light peachy-pink…something I can find elsewhere for less. So it appears that my days of buying lots of BE on EvilBay are coming to a close. (I don't know if it's the increased seller's fees or what, but most items on Ebay are now so close to retail price that once you figure in the shipping…heck, you ARE paying retail, or more. And you can't even see the color in your local boutique before you buy. So what's the big plus again?)

Whiteriot update: eleven hours and my cheeks and the area around my eyes were STILL sparkly. Definitely need to use a sealant and a base with these colors…and definitely adding whiteriot to my “wish list”.
