BareMinerals’ Bare Ruby kit

This was the Sephora-exclusive “jewel-infused” kit released in Autumn 2008 - all of these products were infused with crushed rubies. I knew going in that I would be pitching the makeup bag and at least one of the brushes (yet another damned Soft Sweep Cheek brush). Still, I had high hopes for Wild Ruby. Instead, I ended up rehoming most of the kit.

This kit included:

  • Ruby Radiance — pink rose
  • Golden Ruby — peach gold
  • Vintage Ruby — rose fawn
  • Wild Ruby — plum chocolate
  • Double-Ended Classic Black Mascara & Ruby Beautifully Luminous Lashes
  • Ruby Full-color Buxom Lip Polish — jeweled mauve
  • Soft Sweep Cheek Brush
  • Double-Ended Tapered Shadow & Eyeliner Brush
  • red clutch

I only kept three things from this kit: Wild Ruby liner shadow; the double-ended precision eye brush; and the Ruby Radiance. This kit was a complete and utter bust. I would have done better to cherrypick the liner shadow off of Ebay. (edit: I later bought Golden Ruby from the outlets, at $6.50 a jar.)
