BareMinerals’ May

May and July are the richest shades in this collection. Both colors have enough depth and pigmentation that either of them could be used as a liner or contour shade. I think this color might qualify as “royal purple”, though it shows more purple when applied dry and closer to a violet-blue when applied wet. There is some shimmer in the pot, but once applied, this color has almost no shimmer. I feel utterly safe calling this a “matte”, even though - strictly speaking - it does appear that it might have hints of shimmer. (Or it's like pouring a box of cereal with marshmallow bits: you can see them in the box, but all that gets into your bowl are the flakes and maybe two or three marshmallows.)

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
