BareMinerals’ Safari Chic kit

Yet another of the three-color kits from QVC (there seem to be quite a lot of those.) Some of these are fairly good, others are just…kind of sad (sheer colors, all browns, no new colors…something.) This palette was more muted than most of the ones that initially catch my eye, but I liked all of the shades. Grass, in particular, looks really good with my coloring. Even though all of these were new colors, and there was only one brown, this kit didn’t initially sell very quickly.

This kit contained:

  • Congo — light taupe shimmer
  • Grass — bluegreen matte
  • Olive Mist — cool greyed-green matte

Olive Mist was a bit of a disappointment initially, because it didn't have much color payoff. Damp application brings out the silver and blue shimmer - and that makes all the difference between 'a color I'll give away' and 'one of my favorite green eyeshadows'. Congo and Grass are both good shades - Congo is a little bit warm, but mostly neutral, so it should work for just about anyone. Grass is the only shade currently available through the BE webstore (look for it under eyeliner colors.)
