BBAC 2013, Day 14: Zoya’s Cashmeres collection

I love Zoya nail polish! It costs more than other brands, and it isn't as readily available in stores, but almost every polish applies well and lasts long. Zoya also very clearly marks polishes as to opacity, so you don't buy a bottle, get home, and find that it's sheer or semisheeer. I personally don't love the textured polishes, but that's totally down to personal preference.

I don't love every single collection that comes out, but the Fall 2013 collection caught my eye straightaway. There's only one color in it that I don't love.

The colors coordinate very well (even if one of them, Livingston, does seem like the Odd Polish Out.) The four richer shades are dark but not blackened. All of these are creme finish, and they work well for nail stamping (not all of Zoya's polishes are thick enough to do that!) I've been using Flynn, Pepper, and Louise quite a bit since I bought these colors. Pepper is the perfect deeper red that doesn't quite veer fully into “oxblood” territory, but is definitely an autumnal red. Flynn Is a really lovely cafe-au-lait brown that looks very good on me - not too yellow, not too orangey, just a really great warm neutral.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

About the only way I could make these polishes better is to give them brushes like Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure line: wider, flatter, with the bristles shaped and trimmed so that they precisely paint up to your cuticles, but not all over them.
