BBAC 2013, Day 3: Nail-stamp water marbling

I love the look of water-marbling. The organic shapes, the random colors, the mixture…it really looks cool! What I don't love is the absolute mess. Water marbling is essentially pouring a thin film of many different nail polishes into a bowl of water, then trailing your fingers through the color to get the polish on your nails. Unfortunately…it also gets the polish on your cuticles. And your fingers. A lot.

BBAC 2013, Day 3: Nail-stamp water marbling

I saw a tutorial where someone did a fairly smart thing: they took a nail stamper (like the one you'd get in nearly any nail stamping kit), twirled THAT through the marbled polishes, then stamped the design onto their nails. Genius!! Yes, there's still polish on your cuticles. Yes, there's still cleanup involved. But not nearly as much - which means less polish wasted, less remover used on your skin, and you still get the attractive design.
