BBAC 2013, Day 8: Wet n Wild’s Fergie Take On The Day Eyeshadow Primer

I've used and loved Urban Decay's Primer Potion eye primer for years. I bought the professional size when it came out, and used that. I've tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Bare Escentuals' Prime Time Eye Primer, a few primers (truly primers, not sealants or adhesives or glitter-bases) from indie companies. This primer, by Wet n Wild (a brand that was synonymous with “cheap and low-quality” when I was in high school) in a celebrity sub-line (something I usually avoid, because I want products that work as opposed to products stamped with this famous name or that famous face) and easily available in drugstores, is my go-to, my holy grail, my amazing 2012 favorite. It gives me the same even coloring and coverage as UDPP, and keeps my eyeshadow in place all day same as UDPP. And it costs 1/4 of the price for nearly the same amount of product. Tell me how that isn't a good deal!

I wasn't even interested in trying this product until I read other reviews by bloggers I know and trust. They were saying great things about it, so I thought - what the heck, I'll buy a tube when it's on sale. I used it five times before deciding that the performance wasn't a fluke, and that I had a winner on my hands. Once I did the math, I found out how great a deal it was in comparison to my previous go-to primer.

After the initial flurry when I'd keep trying to buy it and find only empty display cases or hanging racks, drugstores started stocking more of this product….or people stopped “stocking up” in case WnW discontinued the primer. (It's been nearly a year, and they haven't discontinued the primer. In fact, they've added a shimmery variant that can also be used as a highlighter.)
