Honestly, I did not intend this to be a month of eye-of-the-day interspersed with nail art learning experiences!!
I put this down to the universe, carefully ensuring that I stay humble.
Check out Danielle's post for today by looking at the Beauty Blog Advent Calendar.
So for those of you who have done the nice smooth sponge gradients…what did I do wrong? I got those denser sponges, because I wanted a smooth gradient rather than the “stippled” effect I got here. Did I get the wrong kind of sponge? Or did I press too hard / too long? Or did I apply too much polish to the sponge?
I've also seen people do gradient manicures using both sponge wedges and (effectively) eyeshadow applicators. Those gradient manicures came out looking better. So…what did I do wrong? What else could I try next time to get better results? I was sure that, of all my nail-art attempts, this and tape-stripes would be the easiest and give me the best final look. This isn't as poor as the stamping turned out, but…somehow, somewhere, I messed up. I like my color choices, but the end result is a bit choppier than I'd prefer.
I was trying for something kind of sunset-oid. I think the color choices were decent, but the execution was not what I was visualizing. Hopefully folks who visit this post can help me with my technique, or give me some tips. Because I'd love to do these…if they came out more graceful, that is.
