I've had few attractive end-results with my nail art this month, but I did a halfway decent job on this one. My dots were a more uniform size, and while the “snow” at the bottom of the nails wasn't quite as even as I would have liked, it looked decent. I know what I did wrong, I know what I did right, I learned some things, and I had fun wearing this manicure for a few days.
Check out Danielle's post for today by looking at the Beauty Blog Advent Calendar.
I wore CND's Daring Escape under two coats of CND's Dazzling Dance. Then I put glue around my fingernails and on my cuticles, to catch any overages from the freehand “snow” application. I put some white polish on a piece of wax paper and dipped my second-smallest dotting tool in that, then applied it randomly over my nails. (They're still a little on the large side…but it looks better than my previous attempt!) Once I had everything in place, I let the polish dry for about half an hour and then finished up with CND's Vinylux top coat. (I wanted to give the non-CND polish enough time to cure properly before putting the top coat over it, just in case there was any “dragging”.)
I waited another half hour, but still pulled up the edges of the white “snow on the ground” polish when I pulled up the glue on my cuticles; but it did its job of neatly catching most of the overages and making cleanup a LOT easier.
