I couldn't easily think of another “favorites” list to put for this almost-final day of BBAC 2015. I have a few posts for next week and the weekend, wrapping up the year-on-the-blog and laying out some of what comes next, so I didn't want to do one of those. I really am looking forward to next year! I feel like I've got good plans for slowly expanding the content variety while continuing to work through the backlog. (I'm also looking forward to a new start on the Reshoot Project, which took a backseat while I get the “new-stuff” backlog far more under control.)
So here's a little precis of the evening at my place…
‘Tis the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a kitty is stirring, because this afternoon I spent hours dragging their favorite shoe-string and they’re exhausted.

The stockings are hung on the curtain-rod with care, because I don’t have a mantel. (Yep, each cat has their own stocking.)

The kitties are nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of self-animating shoe-strings dance in their heads

And here I sit in my socks, fleece, and sweater,
Making my packing-list for seaside weather

That's my cocoa, and one of my mugs. Yes, I do use those mugs every day. I have a whole set of these dishes: white, glazed, with gold accents. I'm sure it's just gold-colored paint rather than actual gold leaf, but it's still very attractive and elegant-looking. I can't easily nuke these dishes because of the gold paint, which isn't smooth enough to avoid arcing if put into the microwave...so I don't use the bowls or plates when I need to do something like reheating a serving of chili. The gold paint has worn away in some parts, because I do not wash the dishes by hand - I put these dishes into the dishwasher, because I can. But even though that causes more wear and tear, I'm not going to save these dishes For Good, or not use them because I don't want to spend the extra time hand-washing each piece. I use them, I enjoy them. (I also got them for 40% off when Linens N Things was going bankrupt back in 2008. I actually bought these dishes during the run-up to buying my first house, so I didn't unbox them until I moved in here.)

I'm sitting bundled up, a movie on for background noise, and writing out my "packing" list. I'm going to spend a week with the family. It's supposed to be cold and rainy the whole time I'm there...so packing isn't going to be much different than what I'd wear up here! We're forecasted to have snow the day that I'm flying out, so that should be...interesting. I hope the flight isn't delayed too much. We're going to see movies! We missed The Martian (I saw it in theatres, Dad didn't but wanted to) but maybe it'll be on On Demand by that point or something. We're definitely going to Star Wars - we have D-Box seats. I'll be meeting a family friend (my brother's girlfriend, whom both my parents also like), and we'll be watching Young Frankenstein at some point because Family Friend has never seen it, and to decode our family's quote-laden speech, she's going to need to see a few movies to have context. Mom and I will be coloring at some point, possibly at several points. My brother and I will possibly spend a few hours catching up...or maybe not. We sometimes intend to, but we call each other a few weeks after The Gathering and do our catching-up then.

We'll also be making cookies and decorating them and then eating them, lazing around all day in our PJs, relaxing, reading, going out to do things when we want to, but otherwise just catching up, visiting, and relaxing. I hope that whatever your holiday plans are, that they give you the ability to relax and recharge and enjoy yourself.
Visit the main calendar daily for more links from Fueled by Makeup, Katyroleigh, and Palettes n Ferrules.
