BBAC 2011: Day Eighteen

My first makeup that got me interested in makeup was a gift from my aunt that I received when I was 13 or 14. It was a Dior shadow quad, four iridescent eyeshadows: green, gold, pink, blue. I loved them! When I got into mineral makeup I went hog wild getting my hands on any of the iridescents or “eye quickies”, until I found TKB Trading and could get them for much less money. The other day, browsing ELF's site, I saw their Eye Transformer palette.

The colors look different than the ones in my long-gone Dior quad - looks like ELF's has peach, gold, pink, violet - and I have no idea if these will be the white-iridescents, but at $3 I had to get one. Partially because of utter nostalgia. I looked and looked, and I think that the successor was Dior's Moonray 5-color palette...which is going for upwards of $50 in the Amazon Marketplace. I think Dior's original quad might have been called Moon Dusts or something (absolutely no relation to the TKB Trading Moon Dusts, which I showed you a few days ago.) I was given other makeups - a nail polish mixing kit, some Bonnie Bell lipstuff, some Avon perfumes (Sweet Innocence! Who else remembers getting that as a stocking stuffer?) I think a few other things - but this gift, from my aunt, was my most memorable. I used that palette for over ten years. What was your first makeup purchase or gift? Do you remember? And stay tuned, folks, I've got another two flash giveaways coming up in the next week!!

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches
