BBAC 2011: Day Eleven

I admit it: I'm a holographic-polish addict. Linear holos are the best, of course; but even scattered holos, if they're an unusual shade or are on the denser side of “scattered”, catch my attention. I skipped the recent Tronica collection from China Glaze largely because its colors were the same base shades as the OMG collection (which I have most of), but with the scattered-holo effects of the Kaleidescope collection (again, which I own most of.) I do strongly regret that I missed the original formula of OPI's My Private Jet, which was a black holographic. (Black!!! I'm not a huge black-nail-polish fan, but…black holographic!!) I scrambled after the OPI Designer Series polishes because while they were scattered holos rather than linear, many of them had unique base colors.

And then, Scrangie swatched these…

Speciallità is a nail polish brand from Brazil. They are not “big-3 free”, so folks with chemical sensitivities may want to steer clear. And currently, if you're not in South America (or some country that Speciallità ships to) you can get these polishes…for three times their price. (This is what the rest of the world has to deal with when we gleefully share pics of all of our US-only beauty stuff, like most nail polishes and the occasional makeup brand and anything from Sephora.) Llarow's carries several non-USian nail polishes, including Ozotic Pro, Ludurana, and Speciallità‘s Hits no Olimpo polishes. I did place an order for the richer-toned shades from this collection: Apolo, Ares, Artemis, Atena, Hera, and Zeus. They arrived yesterday and I can't wait to do a few manicures with these polishes!!

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

(Technically, Artemis is not a ‘richer-toned shade'. But it's a pure silver holographic! Like OMG, and Sexagon, those tend to be snapped up -=fast=-.) I may circle back for Dionísio - I haven't quite decided. I don't know that I'm interested in Poseidon, Demeter, Hestia, or Afrodite; and Hefesto is a “sheer” silver. I'd prefer to stick with the opaque silver-white Artemis!
