Lately I'm on this eye pencil kick. First I dive into the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils like they were chocolate (mmmmm, chocolate!!! ...now where was I? Oh, right:) Then I picked up the Buxom Eye Pencil set Armed and Gorgeous - because it lets me try six shades for the price of two fullsize pencils, and because it's got three metallic shades. Then I start looking at the Urban Decay Eye Pencil set. You know…just to do a comparison.

I like eye pencils because they're easily portable, and not messy to apply (you don't need a separate applicator.) I don't like the fact that they do go directly on your eyes, so they're not an inherently sterile medium; and even with the tip, I don't get quite as much fine control as I'd like. The NYX eye pencils are wonderfully inexpensive (especially if you buy through an etailer like Beautyjoint or Cherry Culture), but they're not creaseless nor waterproof. Urban Decay are waterproof, and they've got some brighter shades, but they're not inexpensive. I haven't tried the Sephora brand eye pencils yet, but plan to give one a shot - I know that Sephora's Flashy Eye pencils are a match for Urban Decay in terms of application and longevity, and they're a much better value.
