BBAC 2012: Day 09 - My beauty discoveries this past year

There are a few products that I started using this year that just may be added to my “must-have” list! While I have been using these items for less than a year, they've really impressed me.

First up, Revlon's Just Bitten Balmstains. They apply easily, you don't lose any product due to the need to sharpen it or get it out of a cute-but-impractical container, they color payoff is very nice, and the texture is great. Plus, great big huge bonus, they're low cost! You can pick these up at just about any store that carries Revlon. (And that's a whole lot of stores.) The initial range of colors was nicely varied, with tones all across the spectrum; but I hope that they expand the line a bit, add a few more colors.

Next, Missha's Perfect Cover BB Cream. In late September, following a review from Gia of Nouveaucheap and a reader's comment about special offer for first-time customers, I tried Missha's Perfect Cover BB Cream and BB Boomer (primer). I'd purchased Garnier's BB cream, L'Oreal's Youth Code, and Too Faced's BB cream to try, but was curious about how these Western companies' offerings would stack up to an Asian blemish balm. Overall, Garnier and L'Oreal are okay, but not breathtakingly amazing in terms of coverage. Too Faced is a little better in terms of coverage / concealing, and costs less per ounce, but it's still a bit on the semisheer side. In contrast, I was very happy with the coverage, weight, and color match I got when I first used Missha! I've used Missha's Perfect Cover BB Cream for about two months now, and while I think it's premature to call it a “favorite product of the year” for me, I'm definitely pleased with the results thus far! I was careful to watch for the Black Friday 40% off sale and get a few more tubes that way, otherwise Missha is among the pricier options. But I'm very happy with the performance!
