Beauty from the Earth’s Winter Blues

For a brief while, there were two colors named Winter Blues: this one, and one that was a bit less teal and a tiny bit brighter. (I prefer this one!)

Winter Blues almost looks like it has a navy “undertone” to it, a bit like the colors in My Pretty Zombie's Blue Period trio. The top color is a teal-aqua, color payoff is excellent, and the shimmer is attractive without being “frosty.” There's no staining left behind after removing this color. Even though this color has a darker blue undertone to it, I don't know how well it would work as a liner. It isn't bright enough for a “pop art” contrast, but it's not necessarily deep enough to define well. There isn't so much shimmer, though, that one would be at risk of lots of into-the-eye fallout if you tried using this as a liner. (So maybe I'll need to give this a shot, then?)

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
