China Glaze’s BFF

The day started out a typical Seattle winter - overcast, grey, drizzly - when suddenly there was sunlight!! Luckily I'd taken off IDK last night, so my nails were clean; and I gave myself a relatively fast two-coat manicure so that I could go down and take photos of this in sunlight. I actually missed my first window and had to wait for another break in the clouds. The sunlight I got was kind of weak, but it was sun!!

I guess that's another Sign that You're a Beauty Blogger: when you obsess and burst into a frenzy of motion to get weather and lighting conditions that are -=just right=- for photographing certain things. These OMG holographic polish colors look nice enough indoors, even under regular bulbs; and under my daylight-bulbs you can see the rainbow effect. But real, actual sunlight really brings out the full wow-factor.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

Ignore the cuticles. I know they're ugly. They're getting better, I'm using body butter daily on my hands; but they're still quite raggedy. (Another side effect of tripling the megapixels on my camera: I'm suddenly very, very very conscious of my skin texture. Ack!! Crash course in anti-aging and skin moisturizing!)
