NOTE 03/25/2013: I will no longer be purchasing or reviewing any new China Glaze products, aside from the two that I have in the publishing queue. All previously-published posts will remain up. Info & links of interest
If my description of the color sounds confused…that's because there's a lot going on with this color! The main color appears to be a pale bronze-gold with green reflective lights, that shades toward rose-bronze at the edges. The texture is a slightly roughened metallic shimmer. The roughening adds a little visual texture and helps distract from the very faint brushstrokes that this polish can show. The formula is fairly average for China Glaze polishes, which means that it should be easy enough to use as a stamping shade! Overall, it's an interesting aged-but-not-tarnished gold-metal color. I look forward to seeing this as a nail stamp over a deep dark red, a black, or a brown.
When I first saw the promo pics for this shade, it looked like it would be more of a rose fading to gold at the edges. The copper-rose is present, but it seems a little less intense than the promo pics suggest. I like that there are more colors present in here - the greenish-bronze-gold on the edges is an interesting counterpoint. I like the formula, though I do wish it was just a tiny bit better in terms of spreadability. Then it wouldn't show any brushstrokes at all!!
