All of the entries for the year 2020 were completed before March 2020. Most items were bought in, or before, 2019. And so, despite the pandemic where buying makeup is definitely a lower priority, I'm still publishing these posts.
Emily de Molly’s Light the Way

In the bottle, it looks like it will be a cool grey with a colored shimmer finish. After three coats - which I needed for full opacity - the red shimmer is VERY strong! The color becomes a smoky purple-grey as the nail turns away from the light, and on broader nails you can see hints of gold and green.

Two coats is possible, if you don’t mind VNL or have very short nails that won’t show the demarcation between nail and bed. The colorchange is also fairly strong at two coats. Three coats really turns the red up to 11, though, and gave me full opacity.
