End of the week! Drizzly stuff going on…

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

End of the week! Drizzly stuff going on…

It's cold and rainy. Last night we had a good 20 minutes of thunder- and lightning-storm, surrounded by pouring rain. I'm having amazing amounts of fun. And making progress - on fleshing out the site, on my one-year-challenge, and on paring out the truly worthless shadows that I have.

Yesterday I looked up the colors associated with the twelve western zodiac signs (there's a dozen looks) and with the major arcana from the Tarot (there's 22 more). I also found Colorstrology, which lets you zero in on a month and day to find a color or color combination. For November 6, it's claret red (Pantone 17-1740) and…deep claret (Pantone 19-1840). Yeah. Red and more red.

I received my latest Aromaleigh order this morning, and had forgotten that I'd ordered Verbena. I've only got one other color from the Satin Petals collection, and I don't know if I'll get too many more - the finish and application is gorgeous, but the color palette is a litttle limited. It's an interesting concept - slowly gradiated shades like those found on certain flowers, from palest pastel to the more saturated shades nearer to the center of the blossom - but I want other colors, too :D

I'm not entirely sure, but I think my boy-cat was a glam rocker in a former life. Whenever I'm putting on my makeup, or repotting my colors, or even cleaning my brushes, he's right there supervising everything with serene but sure interest. He even knows that the surest way to get my instant undivided loving attention is to knock one of my pots out of my “on deck circle” to the floor behind the toilet. (I would only yell if he knocked a full opened pot off the counter, spilling it. And I'd be angrier at myself for leaving the pot uncapped. He only does that when I'm so busy that I haven't responded when he comes and stands beside me and talks to me, but I still don't pick him up or at least reach down and rub his ears.) In fact, that's his name now, at least here: Glamour Puss.

I've collected seven colors that won't be going back into the collection, as well as pulling the Ulta colors I'd purchased (my recommendation: don't. They're not worth the money.) Instead, I'll use them to create the new site design. For the longest time I'd wanted to use loose powder mineral makeup as site-design accents, but didn't want to go out and buy pigments or oxides or something else **just** to crush it up, photograph it a few times, and then pitch it. Now, though, the problem is solved :D

Okay, okay, enough nattering. I've got to photograph today's efforts, then set about adding some more color descriptions to the site. A makeup junkie's work is never done…
