The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.
Yesterday I got the TSS Aries sample collection. I've been looking forward to more reds Some folks were concerned: how could they wear red eye shadow without it looking too much like lipstick or nail polish? These colors seemed awfully strong - they didn't know if they would like the collection - et cetera. So I decided to try not a complete Aries look, because that's too much strong red even for me; but adding one Aries color to several other colors.
Over-Coiffed is a color that keeps getting "lost" in my collection - but it's so extremely useful!! I'm glad I got extras when I did. If it is ever re-released, you owe it to yourself to at least get one pot of this superversatile color.
I tried using Sephora's Electro Liner pencil again today. It was hard, it didn't apply easily...I threw it away. I had originally bought the brown and the navy blue Electro Liners because there was no dark navy Flashy Liner pencil; and because I thought, well, one day I might want a flat brown. Sadly, these pencils are pretty unthrilling. I'm afraid to get most eye pencil liners because I fear they'll be like these: hard, difficult to apply, and frankly not worth taking up space in my vanity.
I foiled Over-Coiffed right over Silk Rose, and then applied the second contour color (TSS' Karmic Kisses) over the foiled color. It gave me a nice stronger contour color toward the top without doing away with a contour color toward the outer edge of the lid.
Delicate Burgundy is from Aromaleigh v1's Elemental Lusters collection. This is a collection of, as it says on the lid, "100% mica powder". I got this jar as one of the freebies available when your order goes over a certain amount, so I didn't spend any additional money to find out that I can simply buy 100% mica powder in greater quantities elsewhere. (The upside of buying from Aromaleigh: you can get one pot of this stuff free by using the code FREELUSTER; and if you don't have the time or inclination to mix your own colors and you want something very, very specific, this might be a better alternative. Just know that all their white-iridescent "colors" are the Interfine mica powders from Coastal Scents. You can pay $6 for approximately 1.2 grams; or you can pay the same amount for 1 ounce [28.3 grams].) I have been trying to think of ways to use this jar up, since I'd gotten it and had tested it once already. Using some as a liner for today's look seemed a good solution.
If you don't have Simply Naturals' Pink Crystal, just about any ultralight pinkish color with more sparkle than pigment will work nicely. TSS' Spread a Little Light is a good substitute, as is Bare Escentuals' Serene.
Here's an animation showing the exact color placement, for those of you (like myself) who sometimes want a little bit more information than just text and a few photos.
