Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

EoTD: Fight Fiercely Huskies

The school year starting up. Yes, I remember that madness...been out of the rush for a while, but certain things still affect me, especially as I live in a college town:

  • no decent apartments available; and LOTS of new neighbors (doesn't affect me quite so much now that I own a place)
  • long lines at Target and Costco, as students stock up on basics
  • more crowding in the busses and parking lots
  • more traffic downtown - especially of the 'confused' variety, as students learn and re-learn their way from point A to point B

I did - or, well, tried to do - a smoky eye using gold and purple, the local university's colors. I don't often do a smoky eye, and I tried something today, so I'm not altogether happy with the result. Still...why should the university students be the only ones learning something?

I was pleased with how the blush looked, because Compassion is a lovely color but too dark for regular use - unless I do what I tried out, which was lightly dabbing Compassion on the apples of my cheeks and then going over it using a lighter color (Blushing Beauty, in this case.) The lips looked good, too: I originally was concerned that I would only be able to use Gabby over pink or nude lips; but I've been able to use that sheer wine-mauve to add depth to neutral (but not nude) lip colors. The eye didn't work out like I intended. I think maybe next time I need to use a wider, and less intense, "hard line" of color as the underpainting. I used the mini quickie brush, which is great and portable and versatile - but not right for this particular task, I think.
