This looks almost blackened…but there isn't any sooty leave-behind that you'd expect from a blackened eyeshadow. It makes a great liner or a fantastic outer-vee color…and yes, it works pretty nicely in a smokey eye. There are some hints of blue in this color, especially under soft or bright white lights (as opposed to your standard faintly-yellow-tinted bulbs.) Even with the sparkle finish, I didn't notice much fallout from this as the day went on - even without adding a sealing fixative spray. (I did wear a primer, though - both because this is a darker shade, and because without an eyeshadow primer my eye makeup starts to fade before lunch.)

People with neutral-warm skintones, or olive undertones, should be able to wear this with few problems. If you have strong golden skintones, though, you may have to be careful which shades you wear it with, to avoid it looking a bit out of place.
