Fyrinnae’s Caramel Layer Cake

A good “non-neutral” neutral. The pearl finish nearly overwrites the base color, and there’s a very (very!!!) faint green duotone effect going on. The color blends decently, but with the strong pearl finish, it may not blend the color too well, especially when trying to pair this with smokier shades.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

This was apparently part of a summer 2015 release wave that included Beyond Binary, Birb of Paradise, Capybara, Celestial Beauty, Incubus, Istanbul, Vesuvius, and Zanzibar. I have about half of those colors, but the others - Zanzibar, Vesuvius, Istanbul - didn’t catch my attention. They either looked a bit too similar to shades I already owned, or I just wasn’t interested in them. (Odd that I grabbed onto Beyond Binary and Caramel Layer Cake, two “neutral” shades, when I usually go after jeweltones. I guess it was my own attempt to preserve balance in my collection.)
